In 2023, we had a medical team consisting of 12 people, three of whom were translators and two of them were nurses. We took this team into the jungle to a small town called "Los Angeles." While we were there we provided medicines for those with parasites, body aches, and STDs. We also provided general vitamins for the people but more importantly we provided much needed prayers.
Most people came to us for medicines or glasses and some just needed a friendly ear and a prayer. One lady came to us and she started to describe what she felt and saw while she was trying to sleep or working in the field, and we knew that we needed to pray over her, to pray that whatever had a hold of her and was tormenting her would leave. Another young girl just needed a hug because she had run away from home with her boyfriend, and now she feels like she can't go back, even though she truly wants to go home.
One day, we had the local school bring all the students to receive multi-vitamins. Once, we were finished distributing them and all the students returned to class and we had someone calling for us to go to the school. When we arrived, we saw three young girls seizing. We drove them down to the nearest clinic and the doctors told us, what we already suspected, that they were experiencing severe panic attacks. We also found out that the girls had not been eating to feed their younger siblings and that one of the girls was four months pregnant. Once they all calmed down and were released one girl, Carlita, hugged Katherine and kept saying, "I'm sorry." (The last photo in the slide)
When it was time for us to leave Los Angeles, we went around the town - to the school, the soccer field, the town square, and the local church - and prayed.
